U.S.-China cold war more dangerous than U.S.-Soviet rivalry

TOKYO — People quarrel and fight over many things but can become friends again by ironing out differences. But once distrust over each other’s character and intent deepens, it is difficult to reconcile.

The Nov. 14 summit between U.S. President Joe Biden and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping shows that the relationship between the two countries has fallen to such a low that reconciliation has become difficult.
