One of the most surreal things about the Kardashian family is their status as America’s premiere reality TV stars. Thanks to their show and the fame it has given them, the world is constantly hanging on to everything these improbable celebrities have to say. As a result, we arguably know way too much about each of the Kardashians. Occasionally, though, this phenomenon backfires on these famous siblings when the internet catches them in a blatant lie.
In this case, the lie involves something Kim Kardashian said during the season 4 premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. In that episode, she claimed that she had never had a beer before and made a big show of tasting one for the first time and describing its flavor. However, the internet wasted absolutely no time busting this myth and calling this celeb out.
How did this major lie get debunked, and what led to the onscreen lie in the first place? Keep reading to find out!
Kim and Khloé Kardashian make a bold claim on their show
Even back in season 4, it was clear that the Kardashians sometimes ran out of interesting things to talk about onscreen. Perhaps that’s why that season’s premiere included a strange segment in which Kim and Khloé Kardashian discussed the finer points of beer. Khloé claimed at first to have never had a beer, but then she admitted to trying some Red Stripe in Jamaica.
She then sipped some Corona (after hilariously verifying that it was a Mexican beer rather than an American one), prompting Kim to take a sip. An incredulous Kylie asked what you’re probably asking now: “You guys — are you OK? You’ve never had a beer?” This caused Kim to declare that she had never had a beer before.
Keep in mind that this is reality television. But as the internet soon discovered, there was nothing real about Kim Kardashian’s bold claim!
