The drama between Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle has been ongoing for years, and the Princess of Wales has had enough. Recently, she was spotted enjoying some time away with William and their three kids at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, alongside King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Princess Anne. However, noticeably missing from the guest list were Harry and Meghan, who had been at the center of the royal family’s tension for quite a while.
Kate, who’s been battling cancer this year after a diagnosis and surgery, has reportedly been trying to shield herself from the Sussex drama. Sources close to the Princess of Wales say that she’s focusing on her health and spending quality time with her family, all while blocking out the negativity that comes with Harry and Meghan’s actions. If nothing else, there seems to be a clear line drawn in the sand between Kate and William, making it known they want to keep their family free from any stress caused by the Sussexes.

A source shared that William is particularly protective of Kate, who has been visibly distressed by the ongoing feud. “William was tired of seeing how agitated and anxious Kate became every time Meghan and Harry did or said something that negatively affected them,” the insider revealed. As a result, Kate and William have reportedly made efforts to limit any talk about Harry and Meghan during their time away, focusing instead on their well-being.
This attempt at peace comes after the bombshell 2021 interview between Meghan and Harry with Oprah Winfrey, which had far-reaching consequences. Meghan accused Kate of making her cry before her wedding to Harry and claimed that some members of the royal family had been racially insensitive toward her and their son, Archie. The interview and Harry’s memoir Spare only deepened the rift between the Sussexes and the rest of the family. Kate’s wounds are still fresh, and she’s reportedly holding onto resentment. Kate would never forgive Meghan, as she feels that Meghan and Harry have done enough damage to the royal family.
