OpenAI Connects ChatGPT to the Internet
It seems Open AI will remain in the news for a while by announcing a series of new advancements.
In the latest development, OpenAI announced the incorporation of plugins for ChatGPT that increase the capabilities of the bot by giving it access to outside knowledge bases and databases, including the internet, in some circumstances.
The service is currently in Alpha state and accessible to ChatGPT users and developers on the waitlist. OpenAI states that it will initially provide access to a small number of developers and subscribers to its premium ChatGPT Plus plan before rolling out larger-scale and API access.
OpenAI’s web-browsing plugin enables ChatGPT to gather information from around the web to respond to different questions. The plugin uses the Bing search API to collect content from the internet and reference those URLs it visited while creating an answer.
At the same time, the blog also quoted that a chatbot with web access is a risky prospect. Risky in the sense that ChatGPT might engage in a variety of unfavorable actions, such as sending spam and phishing emails and other misleading information. To counter this, it stated that Open AI has put in place several precautions to stop such activities.
A code interpreter for ChatGPT was also made available by OpenAI in addition to the web plugin, and it may be used to solve mathematical problems, analyze and visualize data, and convert files between different formats.
OpenAI has invited some of the notable companies to create their plugins which will lists them are Expedia, FiscalNote, Instacart, KAYAK, Klarna, Milo, OpenTable, Shopify, Slack, Speak, Wolfram, and Zapier.

Windows 11, Tesla, Ubuntu, and macOS Hacked at Pwn2Own 2023
You will be astonished to read that top products, including Apple macOS, Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft SharePoint, Ubuntu Desktop, Tesla Gateway, Adobe Reader, and Oracle VirtualBox, have been hacked into Pwn2Own Vancouver 2023 hacking competition.
Top elite hackers have demonstrated their top-notch skills and hacked into the world’s leading products. The total prize awarded on the first day was $375,000.
The Trend Micro Zero-Day Initiative (ZDI), operating since 2005, organizes the annual Pwn2Own hacking competition. It features competitions between some of the top hacking teams leveraging recently undiscovered “zero-day” exploits against each other and predetermined tech targets.
These zero-day hackers quickly report any vulnerability they have found to the vendor, who then releases patches to address the problem.

Google Maps’ Immersive View Is Live for Some Users
Finally, Google is rolling out Google’s Maps Immersive view in select cities like London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Tokyo and for select users.
The long-due Google Maps’ “immersive view.” feature is the combination of 2D images and 3D rendering tech fused together with AI to create a navigable city experience.
Google announced the immersive view feature last year, and now it is available in selected places like London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Tokyo.
It is a completely new method of exploring a location that gives you the impression that you are already there. A rich, digital model of the world is produced using AI and computer vision advancements to combine billions of Street View and aerial photographs.
Additionally, it adds useful details like the weather, traffic, the density of a location, etc. Google uses neural radiance fields (NeRF), a cutting-edge AI method that converts 2D images into 3D representations, to produce these realistic scenarios.
Google even has plans to offer indoor Live View at more than 1,000 additional airports, train stations, and shopping centers in the upcoming months in Barcelona, Berlin, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Melbourne, Paris, Prague, So Paulo, Singapore, Sydney, and Taipei.
