9 Deleted Scenes That Would Make Movies Much More Enjoyable

Posted on

It’s not a secret that every movie gets heavily trimmed before the final version. Usually, dozens or even hundreds of unused footage end up on the cutting room floor. Most of the time, these are full scenes, sometimes with basic CGI, that just didn’t fit the pacing or were just unnecessary to begin with. However, some of them are truly diamonds in the rough and would make the final movie much more fun to watch!

Fortunately, many of these deleted scenes end up on the Internet, so let’s sit down and enjoy some particularly interesting ones.

1. Blade Runner (1982)

The main protagonist, Deckart, has a dream in which he sees an origami unicorn. The same unicorn he finds at the end of the movie that’s also similar to the one made by his partner. Thus, the audience is hinted that the main character is a replicant whose dreams were artificially implanted in him. The filmmakers decided to get rid of this detail to make it more ambiguous. It was actually Harrison Ford himself who insisted on removing this scene.

2. Kill Bill 2 (2004)

Remember the scene where Bill fights a bunch of gang members in the alley, showing off his fighting abilities? The way Beatrix Kiddo looked up to him at that moment was pure awe. Oh right, you don’t remember this scene because it was cut out.

3. Aliens (1986)

In this deleted scene, Ellen Ripley wakes up from cryo sleep 57 years after the events of the first movie. She sees a photo of her daughter Amanda, who was ten years old when her mother flew off in the Nostromo spaceship and eventually fought off an alien xenomorph there. But it is revealed that in the present, Amanda died two years ago at the age of 66.
