8 Star Wars Characters That Deserve Their Own “What If?” Series

The Star Wars lore is already insanely vast due to all the movies and Disney+ series we’ve been bombarded with ever since the House of Mouse took over the franchise. But that doesn’t mean that every story in a galaxy far, far away has been told already. There are still a lot of Star Wars characters that are interesting enough to warrant a deeper dive into their past, future, or just an alternate storyline. Because let’s be honest, George Lucas and Disney don’t always make the right choices.

Let’s take a look at some Star Wars spin-offs we wouldn’t hate to see. Spoiler: Andor isn’t going to be on this list. Nobody needed that.

1. Luke Skywalker

Yes, the entire series of movies is about Anakin and Luke, but boy, it’s still hard to believe they never had Luke fall to the dark side. We know Mark Hamill himself was a great fan of having a sith Luke, and it would’ve definitely been a fun alternate story to watch. Make it happen, Disney, show us the darkest timeline.

2. Leia Organa

With all the stuff currently out there, we’ve seen Leia as a 9-year-old princess, a 20-something-year-old princess, and a 70-something-year-old general. But there was a time when Leia was building a relationship with Han Solo, having a kid, and combining all that with her Jedi training. Sounds like there are still a lot of stories to be told there.

3. Qui-Gon Jinn

Any excuse to see Liam Neeson again is a good one, but this Jedi master got a really bad deal. He is the first Jedi to die in the Star Wars canon, and at that point, he was already established as a wise and capable Jedi that probably had a few years of watchable experience under his belt. Or go nuts and create an alternate story where he beats Maul, and he ends up training Anakin. Who knows, he might have even prevented him from turning into Vader.
